Cars and motorcycles are truly my passion. I collect, drive and ride them and love creating images of them. The OM-D series’ reliability is unparalleled, creating confidence that when I press that button, I’m going to capture every image.
Being lightweight eliminates the headache of dealing with multiple heavy cases out on location, making shooting motorsports attainable for pro and non-pro shooters alike. Tracks can easily be 2 miles long, so running from turn to turn carrying gear is now manageable with this more functional, lighter camera. I used to carry a cumbersome case for my long lenses, but now my M.Zuiko Digital ED 300mm F4.0 IS PRO (600mm equivalent) fits nicely in a smaller case with other lenses. At most tracks, for safety, you shoot behind guard rails and impact zones, far from the action. The 300mm F4.0 IS PRO lens compensates for this by making images look like you shot up close. What’s more, is that 5-axis Sync IS combined with a lightweight lens and body enable me to handhold instead of using a monopod, adjusting angles more quickly because I can move freely.
Out in the elements, you face snow, rain, dirt, and extreme temperatures. Having a system that is weather sealed and reliable in diverse conditions just adds to the excitement of using the new E-M1X.
