There are times when we have the opportunity to photograph a stunningly beautiful and wonderful dish. But a dish cannot be considered complete without great ingredients, and likewise, a chef, too, is not complete without great ingredients.
So where and how are such ingredients produced and gathered?
If you trace story of the ingredients of great cuisine, you will find yourself the midst of wonderful farmers, producers, and fishermen.
I am impressed by these people, and the time and effort they put into their work. I wish to express, celebrate, and convey this admiration in my photographs.
In particular, the food produced in Japan, where I live, is something that people all over the world think highly of. So, I would like to continue photographing with a sense longing and keen interest the people who produce the food and ingredients of Japan, something which is recognized as a world cultural heritage.
