Live GND is a shooting feature that enables natural yet striking images in scenes with a wide brightness range.

By compositing multiple images differently in high- and low-luminance areas, Live GND lets you create expansive landscape imagescreated entirely in-camera,without the graduated ND filter normally required.

Works with any lens

Because the graduated ND effect is created digitally, Live GND can be used even with ultra-wide-angle and fisheye lenses that are difficult to fit with a physical filter.
It is a powerful landscape feature that gives you flexible control over the brightness of the sky and the exposure of the foreground.

Even in scenes with strong light sources, Live GND produces natural results while controlling blown highlights and blocked shadows. It also maintains clear image quality without the ghosting that can occur with physical filters.

Fine-tune the effect

You can adjust three settings while previewing the result in the viewfinder or on the monitor: GND strength (2, 4 or 8), the position of the filter boundary, and the boundary transition (Soft, Medium or Hard).
This makes it easy to refine a natural-looking effect for horizons, mountain ridges, architecture and more.

Whether you want to reduce the brightness difference or emphasize it, the flexibility of the settings expands your creative options.
